Terms of use
Effective October 18, 2026.
By using Towed Car Help, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Information, not legal advice
Towed Car Help explains towing laws, local rules and published rates in plain English, with links to the official sources. It is general information, not legal advice. Using the site does not create a lawyer-client relationship. We are not a law firm, a government agency or a towing company, and we are not affiliated with any of them. For advice about your situation, talk to a lawyer or a legal aid office.
Check the official source
Laws, rates and phone numbers change, and we can make mistakes. Every page shows where its information comes from and when we last checked it. Before you rely on something, check the linked official source or call the agency. The site and its tools are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.
The tools
- The tow checker, cost calculator, deadline tool and sign checker give estimates from your answers and the published rules. A result of "possible problem" is not a finding that anyone broke the law, and "looks OK" does not mean a tow was lawful.
- Dates from the deadline tool are estimates. Holidays, mailing dates and the tow company's own notices can change them.
- The dispute letter is a draft that you edit and send in your own name. You are responsible for checking that what it says is true before you send it.
Your information
Most of what you enter stays on your device. Our privacy policy explains what does and does not reach us.
Using the site fairly
Please do not use the site for anything unlawful, to harass anyone, or in a way that overloads or disrupts it, such as heavy automated scraping.
Other websites
We link to official government sites and other pages we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Towed Car Help and the people who run it are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or relying on its information, including towing, storage or court costs. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
