Towing rules for property managers in Idaho
Before you have a car towed from your property in Idaho, check these rules. They are a summary of state law; your city or county may add more.

- Placement: On or near the property in a clearly conspicuous spot
- A warning that unauthorized vehicles will be towed
- The towing company's name
What the sign law says
Applies to: Property owners or persons in control of property, commercial lots included
A property owner or the person in control of the property, commercial lots included, may have an unauthorized car towed or booted only if a sign is posted on or near the property in a clearly conspicuous spot. The sign must be in large print, say unauthorized vehicles will be removed or booted at the owner's expense, and name the towing firm.
Idaho Code 49-1806(1) (opens in a new tab)
Idaho's statute gives no exact sign size or distance between signs (per the item text); "large print" is not a number.
